Your wedding day is a momentous occasion for you and your partner, so it’s important to make sure that you choose the perfect time for your ceremony. Your wedding ceremony time will affect everything from the light for your photos to the atmosphere of your celebration, and there are a few factors to consider when making this all-important decision. Here are some tips for choosing the perfect wedding ceremony time.
One of the most important aspects of any outdoor wedding is the light. If you’re planning on taking outdoor photos, you should try to time your ceremony so that it takes place during golden hour or when there’s beautiful filtered light in order to get some stunning shots! If you’re getting married indoors, consider if you would prefer natural or artificial light in order to set a certain mood. If you’re going to do a first look, plan to leave about an hour of sunlight for photos after your ceremony. If you opt out of a first look, plan to leave 2-3 hours before sunset for photos.
You should also take into consideration how long your guests will have been traveling when they arrive at your wedding. If they have traveled a long way, they may be tired by late afternoon or evening; if many of them are coming from out of town, it might be more convenient for them if you plan an earlier ceremony. Alternatively, if everyone lives nearby and would rather celebrate late into the night, then perhaps plan something later in the day!
The season can also affect how much natural light is available and can even provide opportunities such as seasonal foliage or romantic snowfall (if you’re lucky!). Consider whether this kind of backdrop is something that appeals to you and how it might change throughout the day. On top of this, check with venues about their availability -certain times may be more expensive (or cheaper!) than others depending on what packages they offer.
Choosing a wedding ceremony time may feel like an overwhelming task but once you consider all these points it becomes much easier! Think about what kind of atmosphere or photos you want to create with your special day – this can help narrow down times that best suit both you and your partner’s vision. From there, don’t forget to factor in the needs and convenience of your guests too! With these tips in mind, selecting a great time for your big day shouldn’t be too difficult! If you get stuck, ask your photographer! They will know what time will be best for your wedding day vision!
